Method and system for a talking weight loss scaleA method of encouraging weight loss via a talking electronic scale. The talking electronic scale determines the weight of a particular person in response to a specific user input. The talking electronic scale utilizes a data storage unit to store and conceal an initial weight for the particular person. The talking electronic scale compares a subsequent weight of the particular person to the concealed initial weight in response to a specific user input and utilizes a speech synthesis unit to announce a difference between the concealed initial weight and the subsequent weight for the particular person without ever displaying or announcing the numerical value of the initial weight. Weight loss compound and method of usingA composition efficacious in aiding weight loss in humans includes a weight-reducing dosage of zinc acetate packaged together with a copper-depletion-preventing dosage of copper gluconate. The zinc acetate is present as essentially the sole active ingredient. The method of using the composition preferably includes administering the zinc acetate and copper gluconate three times per day. In an alternate embodiment, the composition may be administered twice per day. In addition, it has been found that the composition's efficacy is maximized by also imposing a low-fat dietary regime. Weight loss compositions and methods for individuals who may have gastric hyperacidityCompositions and methods of losing weight are described that are suitable for individuals susceptible to gastric hyperacidity or gastroesophageal reflux. The compositions include in part a snack food having two or more rapidly digestible carbohydrates, in which the foodstuff or an aqueous mixture of the foodstuff and water has a pH equal to or greater than about 6, and in which the snack is substantially protein-free. The method of weight loss suitable for an individual with gastric hyperacidity includes substantially limiting the individual's caloric intake to about 1400 calories or less for women and 1800 calories or less for men in which the caloric intake includes one or more substantially protein-free snack foodstuffs having two or more rapidly digestible carbohydrates, in which an aqueous mixture of the foodstuff with water has a pH equal to or greater than about 6 and in which the individual loses weight. |
